My journey began with a decision to seek a new adventure and grew into a 25-year career in the United States Air Force. Along the way, I served on five continents, supported missions around the world, and had the privilege of leading and mentoring countless Airmen. Through dedication, resilience, and service, I rose to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant—a distinction earned by only one percent of the enlisted force. My greatest accomplishment, however, was helping others succeed and creating positive change within the organizations I served.
Today, I continue that mission through Shon Barnwell Events, LLC and Barnwell Publishing LLC, mentoring future leaders, supporting veterans, and creating meaningful experiences that bring people together. On Women Veterans Recognition Day, I celebrate the remarkable women who have served before me, alongside me, and after me. Our journeys are impactful, insightful, and impactful – shaped by a legacy of courage, sacrifice, and service. I am proud to be a Woman Veteran.
